We just moved to Florida, and Hurricane Isaias is headed straight for us tonight. Rain’s already coming down, the wind is picking up, and the neighbors are boarding up. Not cool.
But we’re not going in blind. I turned an old Hyper Tough toolbox into a DIY battery bank using parts from a dead Chinese scooter, and I grabbed some 12V gear from a truck stop to keep us going if the power goes out.
