This is a story about an elderly man inf Fort Walton beach FL who believes he was doing good, but the circumstances did not seem to point to a good justification of his actions. He apparently killed a mother bear and a cub to protect the neighborhood. Please follow the link below and let me know what you think. Did he have the right to shoot if he felt threatened that the bears would return and possibly harm him, his dog, or his neighbors? Was he really ever in danger to begin with? Could he have handled this better? My personal thought is that he seems to be a negligent person who should not have shot unless he was in imminent danger. He also had some shot from his 12 gauge hit a nearby house which put others at risk of harm from him rather than the bears. The incident was unfortunate to say the least.
